You will need:
To make the squares:1/2 cup (or one stick) margarine or butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups cheerios, or similar type cereal, crushed to 1 1/2 cups
1 1/4 cup raisins To make frosting:
2/3 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 teaspoons milk Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheit.
Grease 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking pan.
Beat margarine, brown sugar and sugar in bowl.
Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, baking soda, & baking powder in separate bowl.
Add to margarine mixture; mix together well.
Add cereal and raisins, stirring until thoroughly combined.
Spread evenly in bottom of prepared pan.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until tester toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (much like testing to see if a cake is finished).
Cool.
Combine powdered sugar and milk; stir until smooth. Drizzle this over top & cut into squares. Makes 24 squares.
